happydance02Had every intention of uploading or changing my deep silver program on the v3i last night but....coming home I noticed that some sidewalks were tore up in town. Had to go, needed to go, couldn't pass this up. Found a little coin spill which consisted of 4 wheats, all from the 40's, 1936 buffalo, 1937 mercury, 1941 washington. A few steps away I recovered a 1924 wheat. Wish Rob was there, you know bragging rights. :poke: Got home and after the usual what ya get from my wife, even she was surprised.

Congrats on the nice older coins spill thumbsup01 they don't come often but when they do they sure are a treat.

That's a great find! :envious: thumbsup01
Of course Al had no problem calling me to rub it in.....But I understand, you need someone to share in the excitement, and sometimes the significant other...well, could really care less

When oppertunity knocks like that, what can you do? I think sometimes i might like to have a gun rack in the back window of my truck for my detectors. rofl
And it's good to have someone who detects to brag to. Someone who has known the joy of diggin in the dirt for free prizes.

You are absolutley right on with that statement. I have a lot of fun mding with Rob. He has good ideas, locations, and is down to earth. He makes some great finds which I really enjoy holding and looking at. Of course in my experience(hense aloldstuff) I found that a little competition helps.

good on you not passing up the opportunity to hunt that side walk area. that is a nice clutch of old coins in one spill thumbsup01 thumbsup01

That's a lot of coins for a spill! :) Nothing more fun that pulling out one old coin, then another, then another... then another...

And good work on not passing up a torn up sidewalk - I've done that too many times....

wtg we keep an eye out for torn out sidewalks all the time thats the same as virgin teritory never pass them up if possible nice hunt wtg :clapping: :clapping:

Am I to assume that you don't research for the city planner or an authority of some kind before jumping on this torn up sidewalk, you just whip over and grab the detector? martin

Research:huh: If the town needs to replace this sidewalk for whatever reason, yes I will jump this pieces of public land. We have been having major construction in my town for about 2 years now. Main road being torn up, the town green torn up, major bridges replaced. And our town has been around since the 1600's. I have asked a retired buddy of mine to go to town hall and find out what sidewalks are going to be replaced citywide. It's been a fun ride here.

Two years...it's been going on a lot longer than that...don't forget the bridge on the other side of town...more like 5 or 6 years...and they still can't fill a pot hole.....welcome to Westfield.......hope you have road hazard warranties on your tires rofl lol
