George had a great day despite the fact he walked like a 95 year old with a bad hip lol lol

oke:

oke: going that slow was probably the secret to his success
this site has been pounded hard by alot of detectorists but also has tons of area and is littered with iron , tin and usual celler trash so you can still pickup something if your determined enough. great great buttons George

erfect10: the best i've seen in along time from there , as i said tag them correctly .
i had explained to George that the civil war buttons are a special ones as they are from one Charles Webster age 22 who served in Company H of the 29th regiment Connecticut Volunteers , an all black regiment (one of only two in Connecticut) that died june 7th ,1861 . his body lies and is remembered on the property that he grew up on and finding one of the buttons off his coat at his homesite a few hundered yards away from his memorial is an awesome feeling.
the site has been hit repeatedly for the last eight years or so and it has always been a standby because theres such a large area to detect and a great variety of coins and buttons can be found . i remember the first two times i was there (i was noobie in my cellar hunting days ) the only thing i picked up was a badly shaped fat indian but since it has produced over 50 coins ( large cents , shield nickles, two centers , indians and flying eagles and even a couple of colonial half pennies )and over a hundered buttons including Coinnut's GW last year and different military ones . this time i only pulled a few relics ( not very noteworthy ) but i though it would be cool to show you the day i had on the third time out there about 7 or 8 years ago .
most of this was found about a 120 yards away where i assumed was a picnic area
and now for some closeups of the buttons
one was an artillery button from 1808-1821 still one my finest looking buttons from thet era also later i had found 3 civil war general coat eagle buttons .
and now a closeup of the some of the buckles
also you can see a jaw harp in the lower left ( a popular musical intrument)
now the coins for that day
a 1775 King George III a holed 1843 braided hair large cent and a 1798 draped bust large cent , an 1866 shield nickle (with rays) , 2 flying eagle pennies , and five indians
this day (about seven or eight years ago) was really a memorable one as you can see and i'm glad Coinnut found some good things here yesterday and before with his altered GW button last year . so keep hitting those sites as they do keep producing finds .
