Considering the deep holes everyone's digging...

with the Minelabs, what type of digging tool are you guys (& gals) using? My Lesche gets tiring to use when things get deep. Am I a wimp or do you guys use something more aggressive?

Around my neck of the woods you need one of these to get through the calache layer........

Other than that I have a short garden shovel (24 inch) that seems to work well. I also have the normal digging tool (hand trowel) and also one of these..............

I use a fantastic, indestructible trowel which cost $10 through a metal detector dealer. I have used and abused it for years and it doesn't bend even a fraction of an inch. It's the same one Angel uses.

Depending on where and what kind of soil I'm encountering....I always have 3 shovels on me. 1 small pointed shovel, kinda narrow. 1 Small shovel with a rounded front (use it in rocky soil), but wider head. And the big gun a 2 1/2 ft garden shovel with a regular size head. It's great for a day of hunting especially for digging deep. This is suppose to be fun, not work...and it is work when you spend all day digging 10 inch deep holes, plus it's a prettier plug.

I use a small Lesche hand trowel for parks and a larger Lesche mini shovel for cellar holes in the woods. I'm not much of a park hunter so I probably don't have the best set up for that type of hunting.

The Predator got my cash (again!). I ordered one 'cause it looks like the wider blade and the handle angle will make scooping dirt from the bottom of the hole easier. Thanks, Kenfen and everyone!
