Copper culture Spear point

My research paid off!! I recently located a potential Native American Village site here in SE Wisconsin. After obtaining permission from the land owner he mentioned that as kids that he and his siblings had found several stone Native American artifacts on the property. That was beeps to my ears knowing I had found the right spot. My goal was to locate some copper culture artifacts. After a few hours I had located a copper spear point. It is a spatula based spear point, approximately 6” long and 3-6 thousand years old.
I was using the Deus with the new 11 x 13 X35 coil. The first photo is how it looked coming out of the ground the second photo is after I carefully straightened it out using boiling water and slowly bending into shape for over an hour. Video is also attached. Thanks for looking.

Wow, those are a couple of amazing finds Jeff!
To find an artifact that old in Wisconsin is absolutely Awesome!!:perfect10:

What a great artifact! It's really neat when research pays off. Did the property owner want to start detecting with you? :lol:

Super old,old,old find. Doing the research paid off this trip. Great job of straightening it out, gotta watch the video.
:wow::perfect10::notworthy:

I've often thought about what metal artifacts of Indian origin might be lurking in those fields. Exceptional job!! Absolutely wonderful and worthy of a personal private museum! :bananadance:

Nice find sir. I have a few spots to try that had Native American history to it in our area. I didn't even realize copper spear heads was even part of the technology 3000 years ago in the states (not being a smart A**). Apparently I need to read another book. If I found that, likely I would have been an idiot and put it in the junk pile. Thank you for sharing this with everyone!

Hi Jeff,

Did you ever figure out the buckle? I found one exactly like that. I am having a hard time putting a date to it.

On Wisconsin!
