Couple of Coppers and a Button

Lodge Scent

Been a few weeks since I last got out to swing the coil. Went looking for a cellar hole site Saturday with my buddy Coinsniffa. After a tough hour and a half slog through thick woods and swamp, we finally found the site. Only problem was there were some unexpected private property signs in the area and the site was on the other side of that line. I had been pretty sure that that was public property when I had researched the site. Definitely will need to recheck. It wouldn't be the first time someone put up no trespassing signs on public land to keep some prime deer or turkey hunting land to themselves. \:hammer:

Fortunately, there was a site we had hit before less than an hour's hike back down the hill. Pickin's were slim but I worked the iron and the iffy signals and pulled a 1818 Matron Head and a 1738 KG II Halfpenny and a button.

The two coppers were about 18 inches apart.

That was the 5th 1818 Matron Head that site has given up. It is a very small site too. Go figure.

Ticks weren't too bad for a change.

That 1818 large cent is beautiful! :loveit:

Soon to be 200 years old. Amazing!

And the 1738 King George II Halfpenny is nothing to sneeze at either!

:congrats:

...and nice cleaning job too! |:cheering: Double days don't come that often (at least for me), enjoy it thumbsup01
