Detecting Woods Behind My Village Today

Hey Diggers,

My friend Tom came over and we spent about 3 hours detecting the woods behind my village. Slim pickings for both of us although he got a beautiful 1733 silver 4 Hellers coin.

I did manage 2 relics from the early 1700's. Probably my best shoe buckle ever as well as a very tiny sewing ring (it barely fits on my pinkie). The buckle is probably pre-1720 and is quite small (1 3/4 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches tall). It still has traces of the gold wash. It must have been very flashy when it was new!

Here's a couple pics. Thanks for looking and HH, Dave.

Two very nice relics, Dave, especially the buckle! It is in amazing condition! So ornate, I have never seen one like it. It must be nice to go on a casual hunt and find stuff from the 1700s and older!

:congrats:

Did you ever think that you would be saying "my village". Very nice buckle, for us over here a very early one but for you not so much.... Congrats and remember my offer still stands to house your collection, at least until you come back.

Very nice Dave! They say in New England that most fields have at least one copper still waiting to be dug. In your area, it's more like at least one 1600s item waiting to be dug! Great score on the buckle.

I'm starting to run out of complementary adjectives to describe your finds.
