Most of the common date silver coins have gone up similar to the price of silver. The rare and key date coins have also gone up some.
In the early 1800's copper coins ------most of the higher grades XF and UNC have gone up a little ---anything under XF still pretty much the same prices.
With the past govenment official melts of copper and silver coins, the stated mintage of the old coins are not correct. Even the silver melts of the 1980's and present melt of common junk silver coins lowers the mintage to where any silver coin is rarer than it was 20-30 years ago.
I remember in the 80's a friend of mine had a small coin shop. He bought any silver item and sent it to be melted at the metals processer.
He had so much stuff ----silverware, candle sticks all types of silver coins--he didn't have time to go thru it all. He told me he would sometimes grab a handfull of coins and look thru them to see if any key dates would show up. If he didn't see any decent date coins------ he sent it all to the metals processer.
Toad------So-----Any particular item you want me to look up:huh:
