Elephant Button and Jewelry/Pin

Any thoughts on what these are and their approx age? They were found at a park construction project, the park dates to the 1880's. The elephant button is about the size of a penny and the pin about the size of a quarter.

Darren the elephant looks like it may be a cufflink from around the early 1900's

I should have uploaded a more clear picture, it kind of looks like a tooth, but I don't think so. I think it is a natural pearl but not sure :huh:

Cufflink, that makes more sense than a button, thanks! Maybe it belonged to a circus performer!
