Epic Hunt at the 1833 Cabin Site / Bucket Lister

Digger Don

New member
Noah, Alec and I went back to the 1833 cabin site yesterday. Between the three of us we dug 30 more buttons, two of which were militia buttons.
We dug a few relics and I dug my first US half cent, an 1829. Wow!!

Here are a "few" pictures.

For some reason I couldn't upload a group photo of all the buttons, so here are a few of the nicer ones!

Alec also dug 1/2 of a candle snuffer & 3 musket balls!

Those are some seriously good finds Don! Welcome to the half cent club! Tony is going to be SO jealous! LOL. The buttons are killer too. Go back and pound that site as often as you can! Happy digging, Dave.

Thanks so much Dave, we almost went back today, but it started raining. That makes 45 buttons in two hunts!!

WOWEE, Don! That's sooo awesome! That 1/2 cent is in remarkable condition. The Ny button is a GREAT find!!! Is it a farm, or house? :perfect10:

It’s amazing that was your first find in the field Saturday morning. I can’t wait to go back.

When Don texted me a photo of his Half Cent the first thing I replied was "Dave has found one too, but not me!"

That is a spectacular find, Don! The color of it is wonderful! Crazy that a coin that nice was in a farm field. You know there is more in that field! It is very fortunate that the farmer disked up the stubble to make it easier to detect.

Is everything you find there something old or is there some modern junk too?

Congrats on the amazing finds! :perfect10:
