I was able to get out today for a nice evening hunt. I was hoping to have a few hours but it was a busy day and I didn't get started until 7pm. I headed to a new spot that seemed like it might have potential. My first target rang up around 12-36 and sounded like a wheat penny - sure enough, it was a '37 wheat. My second target was a neat Corbin key. And my third target sounded much too good to be true so I figured it was a shallow clad quarter. I was quite pleased when it turned out to be a '64 Washington. At that point I was pretty excited about this spot. The next 30 minutes proved uneventful though other than a few clad coins. I started to wander back to my car when I got a nice coin tone around 12-43. I was surprised when it turned out to be a well worn 1899 Barber dime. I can't ask for much more than that out of a short evening hunt, and I'm very happy that I have much more ground at this spot to cover. Hopefully there are more goodies to be had.
Happy hunting!
