Some friends and I went on a nice motorcycle ride yesterday, 445 miles.

By the time we got through I was pooped. Got up this morning and said I wasn't going anywhere today. Well about 2:30 I couldn't stand it no more. Told the wife I was going to go dig a couple of hours. Went to the property I just got permission to hunt. Found some clad, 1937 wheat and the 1954 Rosie.

Decided to call it a day. On the way home I passed a site I had hunted earlier in the year. At that time it had a house on it that had been gutted by fire. I noticed that the lot had been scraped clean. Couldn't stand it, had to try it. Found nothing but clad where the old house stood. Was on my way back to the truck (how often does this happen) when I hit a strange target. Was bouncing between 80 and 95. Started to walk slowly around it. Every time the coil went over it, a different number. Staying between 80 and 95. I decided to pinpoint it. It showed 6. And was a very, very small target. So I decided, maybe a ring. I decided to dig. Well, when that plug flipped over, I thought, well now, thats interesting. I think I said, whoa. I saw the eagle, so I knew it was a WLH. The other side was packed tight with dirt. I waited till I got back to the truck to wash it off with a bottle of water. just enough to see the date. 1941 WLH. And in pretty good shape. Well, thats been my day, two more for the jar. This is only the second half dollar I have found. Both WLH's. HH all!

what i meant was you see walkers being found more than the others not meant that they are easy to find dennis

Nice finds and you were rewarded very nicely for a quick stop off at that scraped yard! Congrats on the WLH!

Beautiful coin, I'd be a cloud at least for a few days after finding that! I can't help but wonder why the VDI was jumping so much on it. Did you find anything else in the hole? WTG :congrats:

What a great weekend you had. A very nice motorcycle ride and topped off with some silvers. Congrats on the WLH, that one fills the jar better than 5 dimes.
