Finally Some COOL Weather and Look What Happened!!!!

Digger Don

Saturday morning, Tom (Hiluxyota) & Tim (Noah) and I took a rod trip to do some door knocking in a town we've never been to before. As soon as we got there we were excited at all the OLD houses we saw. We hit homes from the 1860s to the 1890s.
(old for this area). We all did well, but I apparently had the horse shoe up my ### Saturday!!!

My first coin of the day was a 1946-D Walker. Somewhere in the middle of the day I pulled the 1856 Seated quarter and my last coin of the day was the 1848 Large Cent. I couldn't have scripted a better day!! Oh yeah, I also dug seven wheats!
Thanks for looking!

Those are some really sweet finds Don! Been a long time since I've found a largie or walker, and still waiting on a seated quarter. Any one would have made for a great day by itself. Well done!

Any one of those coins would be a day maker and you got all 3 of them in ONE day! Doesn't that make about 10 half dollars this year and 10 seated coins this year for you? Freaking amazing detectorist you have become! Congrats my friend! HH, Dave.

I knew I should've called you Friday. :bangshead01:
You killed it Don! A large is a rare dig around here. At least it is for me. So is a seated quarter! But to get one of each is a ultra rare occasion! :shocked04:
Congrats!

That was a DREAM HUNT! Wow, it's hard to pick which is my favorite but it's probably the 1856 Seated Quarter. That is a rare find here in the Midwest.

The Large Cent is in wonderful shape! I think a toothpick might remove even more of that crusty soil.

I really like the early 1865 Indian Head too. Ones before 1879 rarely turn up. Very nice!

And your Half Dollar streak continues in earnest! WOW!

Congrats on the mind-blowing hunt, Don! That is one you will always remember!

:perfect10:

WTG Don,

Always amazed at the number of 1/2 dollars you pull up......:thumbsup02:. that seated quarter and the largie are great finds for your area of the country. So you are able to get all these goodies when the weather turned COOL, I can imagine what you'll get when the weather turns FREEZING....

That's one of best hunts we've seen posted! :bananadance:I take the banana dance very seriously...I only give it on few posts. This one warrants it :)
Amazing, Don...I'm really happy for you!
