Today I got out to check out a new permission. It was a ball field but I guess it was never used for that much and now is a truck pull field. Found 13 cents and a pile of can slaw. Have to give it a try later. Went back to a park I have been in lately. Swung for a little over an hour. My last target turned out to be a 1840 half penny token from move Scotia! Nice shape also! Still trying to pull a silver of any kind out of this park. Same park I found my 1905 IH

Congrats on your new, oldest! ! ! ! :clapping:
If your finding coins from the early 1800's, there's gotta be a silver coin or two hiding aroundthere somewhere.
And there's a good chance there's a old silver there too!
Now you just have to find it. :detecting:

Another huge congrats Dennis, that is one sweet find! Now go get those silvers, I have confidence you will see some soon!

Well I do know that this park has been hit by experienced and good detectorist so I'm hoping that there is silver but certainly can't complain about 1840 and another full length brass shotgun shell in better shape than the last one but for Drew's sake I didn't show it😁.

Outstanding find and congrats on your oldest coin to date! I'm sure that coin definitely has you hooked on the hobby now, if you weren't already!
