Found an old park and had my best silver day ever.

My first double digit silver day!

Yesterday I spent a lot of time on Google maps trying to find some new spots to hunt. I ended up with a list of over 25 parks that I have never been to. Most of them are about 60-90 minutes away from my house.

Today I decided to try out one of my new spots. My plan was to try hunting at a park for awhile and if I didn't find much move on to the next site. I ended up staying at the first park all day. I hunted there for about five hours. This park turned out to be a real honey hole.

My finds for the day:
4 Indian Head Cents: 1889, 1899, 1902, 1903
14 Wheat Cents including a 1909
1 Buffalo Nickel: 1929
1 War Nickel: 1944-D
2 Jefferson Nickels: 1941, 1954
4 Barber Dimes: 1893, 1898, 1904, 1913
4 Mercury Dimes: 1917, 1919, 1926, 1944
1 Roosevelt Dime: 1952-D

Ten silver coins today! My previous best was 8 in one day.

Barber Dimes 1893, 1898, 1904, 1913
I had to look at the 1893 with a magnifying glass to get the date. I've never found a Barber Dime that's worn so bad. Who knows if it ever had a mint mark or not.

Hey Tony,

You forgot to mention the address of the park! rofl

A big :congrats: on the 10 silver day. That's a dream hunt!

It was good to talk to you again today Tony. Congrats on a nice assortment of early coins. 2 of those barbers look to have full LIBERTY. The 1898 sure looks nice. After some heavy rain I'll bet that park gives up a bunch more. Maybe a seated or two also! Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Wow what a great hunt! Also thanks for the awesome video.

Thanks, Fred! The video ended up being almost too long, but I wanted to show all of the silver being recovered as well as the Indian Heads. I actually left out a lot of the footage like the wheat cents, buffalo nickel and the Jefferson nickels.

Tony, that '04 has nice color! Hey, how far do you drive on normal hunts? Great hunt :clapping: :clapping:

This site is further away than usual. It is 95 miles away from my house, it took about 90 minutes to get there.

Tony, congrats on hitting a homer in the first park you tried! You got some good keepers there. Hope the rest of them will be as good as the two barbers were, good luck on the rest of this year's searches and HH.....
