Did some research this winter when a friend mentioned seeing a long stone wall along one of their game club properties. I did find a home on a mid 1800's map that is along the edge of that property. So after their turkey hunt, we hiked in to check it out this afternoon. Found the site, which is badly overgrown. And after more poking around in endless plants with thorns, found the hole. Gonna have to go back with a blowtorch or napalm.

The intersecting wall on the property away from the hole. So polluted in there. Bummer..

I keep hand clippers and a folding saw in my pack now, and spent 15 minutes cleaning a small area to see if there was hope. Got a tack ring near the hole giving me a nice tone, so that's a good sign. Only had a few hours to play, and wasted a bunch getting to it.
