ok... so today I drove to Boston taking my Son back home... I stopped at a common that has yielded finds every trip... Last trip there I nabbed the Federal Revenue Cutter Cufflinks...

Edited post... What wrong with this picture is my son messing with me... I have a bucket list and he has been looking for items on my bucket list... and thought he was helping me out :-(

in the totals picture that big coin is a Canadian Two Dollar piece... There was some swings close by and the wood chips were calling me :-) but... I didn't even know that canada had two dollar coins...

HH all...

Re: No wonder these almost never get dug !

Yes, they do register very low on the E-Trac. lol At a trashy park they would likely get passed over, but at sites where the surface trash is minimal they may yet see the light of day. Nice one!

04 ?! :shocked04: Man I don't know if I'll ever find one of those lol
That sure is low!
Nice save Paul!!
Congrats

SCORE! <:
That is an amazing coin to add to your impressive collection.
It's hard to believe they hit so low.
Congrats Paul, it's always exciting to click on one of your posts. :->

Re: No wonder these almost never get dug !

Yep, that is a nice dig. I don't dig 04s that often, so I guess I'll never see one.

Very nice find and excellent pictures. Thanks!

Here's a Wicky-Link that I found interesting. It details the composition of the three-centers over time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-cent_piece_%28United_States_coin%29

After reading it, I can see why your's read so low...75% copper and 25% nickel is not a very conductive combo. Combine that with a pretty small target and the signal is gonna be pretty small.

Thanks for the excellent post.

a very rare coin for us detectorists to find , almost never see one found .a very nice find Paul , i'll be looking toward seeing that one at the meeting this tuesday night.

I thought you had a closer picture of the Three Center.
Was the Three Center the item he found for you? Just curious.
