Went to the local river again today and found a nice coin spill

Is that a special spot or are places like that common? Did people swim there 100 yrs ago but no longer? I'm trying to figure out why you found only old coins. Great job!

That place was a park in the early 1900's. The river use to be damed back then. They had a water slide and paddle boats in that spot. Use to be a weekend retreat for most that lived in Chicago. The park closed in the early 20's.
