Golf course still producing...

IMG_1282.jpgIMG_1279.jpg...but the end is getting near. I met up with Al today for another crack at the course. The grass is growing and swinging is tough. We covered a lot of new areas but all I could manage was a 42 Merc, 4 wheats (oldest was 1927) and my second Ballantine beer ball marker. Al got 5 more wheaties in his quest for 1000, I think he needs 13 more. I dug the Buffalo about 2 weeks ago here. The further we venture from the clubhouse, the scarcer the finds get. We've been going there weekly for over two months, and I have to say the 75 mile roundtrip has been worth it every time. Thanks Al!

A 75 mile round trip would be a short one for me. That is a heck of a spot/ Congrats on all the productive hunts and thanks for all the posts. WD

Nice to see you again Mike. Congrats on the silver, you were the hero of the day...:)

Could you update that total post and I will be in touch when I hear of the roads going in.

Thanks Al, you da man! My up-to date totals are 37 wheats, 1 IHP, 1 undated braided largie, 2 Buffaloes (personal favorite), 18 silvers(8 mercs, 6 Rosie's, 2 Wash quarters, 1 Barber dime and the 1/2 reale for a total of 18 silvers), that nice padlock, 15-20 buckles, 4 rosettes, 1/2 of a crotal bell, 2 fancy buttons, 2 military button, colonial spoon and the Westfield fox hunt tag in 13 hunts. Also found $22 in clad. I calculated I put 940 miles on my car so I need 1 more trip up for 1000. Sound familiar Wheatie Man ? Lol
