Dave, how could you lose your camera?  I never lose anything lol Well maybe a couple things :embarrassed: Hope you can get back there and try and find it. Look good in the vehicle too. I definitely know how you feel  But a real nice spoon. I'm not much at dating them but I always assumed they were around 1810-1830 with that style. I would love to know what the actual date is. Nice watch?, clock? winder. I found one today too lol But I don't get to keep it :crying02: Beautiful '64L Indian :happydance01: When you gonna turn that big cloak button over so we can see the GW on it lol If that ingot isn't silver, it may be a tin/lead combination, or some kind of silver solder?? Just a couple of guesses. It looks like it was a good hunt. :clapping:

hey G thanks! i just added a pic of the mongram on the spoon handle.i gotta look up the hallmark i suppose to date it.
yeah i'm gonna lose sleep over that camera i just know it.it's a half hour away and 2 other cars were parked there hiking.if it don't get run over somebody found it.but,Gary's gonna drive there in the morning since he's not that far and look for it in the muddy parking area

G looks like it may be a gorham spoon? :dontknow:
http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html
1875 if i'm lookin at the marks right
but there is no diamond shaped geometric cartouche with H inside on this page
but the lion, anchor and old english letterE? are the same marks as Gorham

The marks are similar, but it might not be them. The part that gets me is the little quote under the dating block that says (note) Gorham date code marks are found on hollowear and some smaller items, not used on flatware So they didn't code stamp the H?? on flatware?? They may have not used that system on flatware. Maybe we have a silver collector on here that could help you.

if i was roger i'd go back and find that camera and hold it for ransom lol lol :thinkingabout: :thinkingabout: maybe the spoon with his initial on it lol lol the ingot looks like it might be bar of babbitt metal , it comes in alot of different compositions ( lead and tin , nickle iron and others) its a white metal .
