Permits for metal detecting on the beach? :detecting: That's crazy! Do little kids making sand castles need building permits? I bet they issue permits for buying 2 liter bottles of soda at the same place. lol

I know what your saying Chicago Illinois is not friendly for a lot of things.At times I do miss central florida.In Chicago I had to pay $22 bucks to park for 4 hours in madeira beach florida it cost me $2 dollars for 4 hours.Chicago is bad news for lots of things and im not going to get into that can of worms.

Permits are needed on Long Island. Check with the county administration that you want to detect in.
