Got a Barber Half today! My first!

Another one scratched off the bucket list! I finally got my first Barber Half Dollar today!

Yesterday I tried a new spot, a grassy area beside an old railroad depot that has been turned into a village hall. In this grassy area I found 1 Indian Head, 16 Wheat Cents, 3 Buffalo Nickels and 1 Mercury Dime. It was a pretty fun day.

Today I decided to head back to a park that I had hunted one time last year. When I was there last year the Lions Club was having a fish fry and most of the park was occupied with people. I detected a small corner of the park that was away from the people and found a few wheat cents and a couple of easy silver dimes.

Today was a beautiful sunny day in the upper 70s, and again there were several people in the park so my hunting area was limited. I decided to hunt a strip between the sidewalk and the street that was furthest away from the people in the park. An older gentleman driving by stopped and told me that an old two-story brick school house used to sit on the site. Good to know!

Today in that strip along one side of the park I found 1 Indian Head, 4 Wheat Cents, 3 Silver Rosies, 1 Silver Washington, and a 1903-S Barber Half Dollar! The strip I was hunting was almost like a shallow ditch. I guess no one had bothered to hunt in the ditch before! I will definitely have to go back to this park sometime when there are not so many people there.

Here are my finds for the weekend:

Mystery Coin. It's about the size of a large cent. I have no idea if it's Arabic or Hebrew or what?

:congrats: Tony, thats a pile of silver! It was a great day to be out today and silver seemed to be coming to light. I like the doughboy, the old leaad toys are far and few to find in that condition.
