Hi all, got out a couple of hours before heading to work, and hunted an older park that was given to the town in 1880. First 45 min was all trash >:{ But then the Garrett was playing the silver tune, Found my third silver, 1944 merc. Then 30 min later found my first Civil War Button. :shocked04: This one is a Infantry Button worn by a Union Officer. Good hunting everyone thumbsup01 Eric

yup thats right in there 1860's :congrats:

I know what you mean Merc. Both coins and buttons have great detail in them, and what I like about the button is the research to see where it came from and who wore it.
Thanks and good hunting thumbsup01

Hey, thanks del. thumbsup01. Always like to know the particular date on my finds. Are you a big Civil War buff?

Nice button, I'm starting to like buttons as much as coins now. thumbsup01

Hey Merc, I know what you mean. I like finding both of these old stuff. The workmanship and detail are spectacular. :shocked04:. But when you find a relic like this button, I enjoy researching on line to see where it came from, and in this case, who wore it.Thanks and good hunting. thumbsup01

Eric ,
yes i'm a big history buff and love finding relics from
Civil , Mexican , Seminole , 1812 ,Revolutionary , French an Indian and even further back
although we don't find too much Civil War related stuff up here we occasionally get lucky.
