Although the detector has been in the house since early November, I won't be getting it until Christmas morning. I didn't expect to have the opportunity to use it until spring, but this record warm December we've been having has made it possible for me to at least try it out a bit before the ground inevitably freezes.

Since this is my first detector, I asked my wife to get the Garrett Ace 250. Seems like it's a very popular starter unit.

I work with BTV Digger (John). We'll be doing some digs together come spring, and his experience will no doubt be quite helpful as I start off.

Welcome from western MA. The Ace 250 is a great starting machine and already having an experienced detecting partner is a huge plus. Looking forward to seeing your finds.

Welcome aboard my friend. Looking forward on hitting some good sites and finding history together next year. There's plenty left, just got to go to the right spots!
