Hi everyone on the other side of the pont. Did some hunting yesterday in Germany (20 minutes drive for me) , close to the place were I found a silver hoard. It wasn't that much yesterday. One find was remarkable, an old cross with wooden inlay. You can open it on the backside. It's a relic-holder or relic-keeper, about 200 years old. They put relics (bibletext, hairlocks etc) in the cross for savekeeping.

Looking at the holes in the wood, it makes me think that at one time it may have had a crucifix attached.
 
That's neat find! Too bad the contents are unidentifiable . It would've been interesting to see the keepsake inside.
Still a cool!
