it looks like a cerimonial sword or for a fraternal organization like the Masons or international order of odd fellows , ect. , ect.

Cody, I don't know if this will be of any help......I have a sword from the 1700's. I can unscrew the tip of the handle and the handle slides off revealing the makers name.

Generally the sword makers name and sometimes....a date...can be found on the base of the blade right before it goes into the handle. Anything else etched onto the blade?

I agree with Dan too. Lots of ceremonial swords late 1800-early 1900s.I'm thinking Knights of Columbus (Catholic Frat).
