Hi, I am new to metal detecting, but I am definitely hooked. I live in Shawnee, OK and would love to meet other dirt-fishers in the area.

Welcome from southern Nevada.

I like Oklahoma. I used to do a lot of business in Oklahoma City and spent a hundred years in Lawton one summer.

I hunt wherever I can. Unfortunately, that's mainly parks, schools and my own yard right now...I just got my new detector (Tek Delta 4000) so I get to hunt those spots again! :peace:

Welcome aboard from MA. Hope you can help you with any questions you may have. Don't think I know anyone with your type of machine, so I would love to see how it performs. Thanks for joining. thumbsup01

Welcome from Kentucky  Looking forward to seeing your finds and hearing your stories- I'm hooked too... pretty sure this is for life lol

I have 2 young boys I'm hoping will enjoy as well, a good family hobby full of surprise and adventure.

Hey nosdoogm!

Welcome from a fellow Okie. I'm 2-3 hours North of Shawnee. I've been hunting for about 5 years but have really gotten hooked lately. There are some great places in Oklahoma. It just takes some work to find them. I find myself running off the road every time I spot an old house. Hunting in 95 degree weather with the ground as hard as concrete is a little tough but it's still better than being at work.
It's a rush evey time You dig up something cool that has been hidden for a hundred years. Have fun and enjoy digging.

Studeman,
You said it! I tried to hunt today, but the humidity was so thick I had to run for the shade!! A little more humidity and I could've swam home LOL

On days like these I take a big container of ice water and douse bandana, wrap around my neck. Cools you down real nice... It gets awful hot & muggy here in KY, but I plan to MD all summer

Welcome from Upstate NY thumbsup01 I'm one of those addicts, chasing new highs whenever I can get out. Great big world out there to hunt!!
