We have wanted to get together with Howard Hewitt from Dig Fella's for awhile now.We been planning and it all fell into place today.Terry in RI called and said he had a couple cellar holes in RI that he had done pretty good at on one or 2 hunts so GTP Guy Scott scooped up Howard,Tim Mass Dirt Fisher drove down from mass and rode with Todd & me down to meet the other guys.lots of room at the 2 cellar holes, everyone did good, nobody got skunked.
I nabbed a toasted classic head large cent,possibly 1812

, a nice ornate knee buckle with a almost rusted off anchor style chape.
A huge Lead bridle rosette with concentric circles on front, another smaller bridle adornment with the leather still on backside.a couple buttons, one being a nice machine turned designed colonial tombac button.a few other odds n ends.
Was a pleasure & a real treat meeting and hunting alongside Howard.
a very kind man with an electric personality. I would hunt with him any day of the week.He was awesome!
was a perfect Sunday detecting with a great group of experienced treasure hunters.
Thanks sooo much to everyone of you guys.had a absolute blast!
check yourself for ticks.had the tiniest nymph i ever seen latched on to my neck.

Great hunt with the Dig Fella's! Nice when everyone gets on the board. Cool buckle, nice tombac. Classic heads are always a welcomed find. I've dug more Liberty Caps than I have Classic Heads. That must have been a fun outing. :congrats:

Great hunt you guys, wonderful relics and nice Large Cent....man those goodies didn't have a chance of hiding away from such an All-Star crew!

WTG Dave. Looks like your up pretty late/early. Love that buckle & Horseshoe pc. Was a nice weekend to get out tectin.

I like the way that tombac cleaned up. Congrats on another great hunt. I hate ticks, because of that i usually avoid detecting in the woods.

Really nice to plan such an outing and see it finally come to fruition. Good to see you had a good time and bring back a few keepers. In your last pic it's also nice to see you at least had some open areas to hunt. Last few cellar holes I've been to have been literally covered in briars/nettles.

did you guys each take turns shouting out to him in the droning mono tone "Howaaad" to make him feel at home ?? the man must be a saint to put up with Bill Ladd ;)

Dave that is a sweet knee buckle and way to go for organizing a great group of hobbyists and special kuddos to Howard for agreeing to join you guys , it says a lot of character. :clapping::clapping:

He really is a good guy Dan,heart of gold and a passion for the hobby expressed more openly and vocal than anyone else i have ever detected with.we all react differently to a find.and his reaction is borderline orgasmic. i agree I don't think i could stand bill for 2 mins, that's why bill wasn't invited:hystericallaugh:

Oh, and what Dan and Dave said. I wouldn't last 2 minutes either!
