I just found out today that Earl Powers ( Civil War Nut ) passed away last night , from a sudden illness . Just thought I would let everyone know .

Thank you for letting us know.

He was an active member here and will be sorely missed. I am shocked to hear this and I am so sorry for his family.

Oh no, no, no... I am in shock ... crying01

He had a special charisma about him that I admired. A real people-person... I will really miss him. My heart goes out to his family.

I'm very saddened and shocked by this news.

I was a big fan of his and he was always extremely helpful when I asked him questions. He will be deeply missed.

My best wishes for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Thank you for sharing this with us K Tn.

Aww man :( I'm sorry to hear that! \:[
I'll miss his great attitude and love for the hobby.
And like Joe said, his always readiness to answer any questions that he could will surely be missed as well. crying01
My condolences to his family :angelic:

CWN will truly be missed by all. Loved his post and the work he did. A great loss. Condolences to his family.

Awful news. :-\

I always enjoyed his posts, he was one of the few members here who specialized in finding civil war items. He was a great detectorist and made some incredible finds.

He will be missed.

My sympathies to his family & friends. I'm a late joiner to AD and I found his posts very informative, he showed passion and knowledge for his detecting persuits.

A very sad day and a champion for our hobby. I didn't know him only through his posts, but i will miss him and prey for his family. Such a sad loss!

my condolences to his family....very sad news....he was a great guy and I loved reading about his finds....gonna miss his 'hidy' ...not too long ago sent me a couple of his civil war bullets....

I am also saddened by this news.

Some things I will miss,
His greeting of Hidy
His picture of himself and his detector
He was the all-time champ of bullets (even in a tree)
He was a relic finding machine

He will be missed.

Sorry I havent been here long enough to get to know him. Sounds like he was a great guy, with some great posts. My condolences to his family and his metal detecting friends.
