It was only in the low 30's today with strong winds and on and off snow. However both the Mrs and the boy were out this evening so I had no obligations and thus decided to tough it out. I headed to a wooded spot where I hoped the wind wouldn't be too bad. I fought the cold and brambles and mud for about 2 hours and came away with one nice keeper - an 1865 Indian Head. It caught me by surprise as it only rang up at 12-30 on the Etrac. Other than that I found two wheats, three Lincolns, and a few relics. Any thoughts on the larger buckle or the other bell shaped object would be great. The round item is interesting because I'm pretty sure it is mica in the center and not glass or plastic. I'm guessing it's an old eye piece to something.
