Location Granby, Ct. First enjoyed hobby in early 80's with a White.
Retired now and need a hobby.
Used Garrett ACE 250 coming in the mail.
Do not drive, walk or bicycle for exercise.
Curious how often the Granby, Ct area has been hunted.

Hey GrayDetect :groovy:
Welcome to the forum from the cornfields of Illinois!!
Sorry I can't help you with how often the Granby, Ct area has been hunted. :dontknow: lol

Welcome from Chester County, PA. Ace 250 is a nice machine, I found my first silver with one. Hopefully you'll get a good bit of detecting in before the dreaded S word hits.

Glad you could make it Fred. The north central nutmeggers will chime in. There are some great detectorists in your area, but don't worry, they couldn't have found everything. thumbsup01

Welcome from SE Wisconsin. Ct. is a great State for detecting, and I am sure most places have been hunted, but as Charlives said, don't worry, they couldn't have found everything. Good luck, with the ACE 250, a very good detector. Hope to see some great finds from you.

Welcome to the forum from central Illinois!

I can tell you that I have not personally hunted the Granby, CT area, if that helps you any. lol

Curious about the Granby Fair grounds and nearby areas if you ever hunted them. Plan to find everything you missed. :shocked03:

i was never fortunate enough to detect the old fair grounds but i hear the guy that owns the property has chased many out off there so i doubt he will be that receptive to the request. good luck and hope you succeed where others have failed .

Well, may have an in, will see come spring, land was plowed and reseeded after haying. Would have been a great chance to hunt if not for the wet weather and muddy ground.
There are bordering areas will try in a week, hopefully.
Also have a cellar hole to investigate.
Good hunting!

Welcome GrayDetect. And I second the nice selection on the detector. Even though they are inexpensive I have heard they are pretty good detectors and I even know a detecting guru who I believe uses one all the time - just learn the sounds and listen closely.

All the best,
Albert

Welcome to the forum |:cheering: Glad you found us! Sounds like you are in an area of great history. Take advantage of your time and enjoy  Post your finds too!

Welcome from western MA. You are not to far away. Do not let a little rain and mud keep you from finding the good stuff. Glad to see that you are in the same boat as I, no biking, no running, just detecting.

Welcome to American Detectorist GrayDetect. It's great to have you here with us. :clapping:
Congrats on the retirement. I think you found the right hobby.
I found many silver coins with the Ace 250. It's a great machine... I still have mine.

Looking forward to your posts. :->
