That's more than likely what happened to it Russell, there's old guard rails and road sign's out there and you can also see where the old roadways were and I found the dime right in the middle of one.

Thanks for all the great replies everyone, I'll definitely be going back to this spot before the winter's out and probably right on up till spring, it's the first time I've hunted it and my brothers second time. Next time I'll put my D2 on my detector cause there's some wide open woods that aren't trashy at all. I was using my 4x6DD shooter on this hunt cause my brother said it was really trashy there but only in a small area.
