Thanks Dan. It's been a tough year for gold but some of the finds have been quality.


About how old is that gold ring Frank? 1920s? Great finds!

I would say at least, Drew. Below is a similar one I found in May.

 
It's hard to believe but I never had it checked out because I believe it's synthetic. However, If you look closely at both,there's not a scratch on either stone, and that's saying something for rolling around in the ocean for almost 100 years.

If you notice the etching on the 14K ring I found yesterday is worn a lot from the sand and elements but the stone is fine.
 
Nice ring. The color to me looks like Rhodolite Garnet or Spinel. Not sure I have seen the latter in jewelry but they say it is really hard and excellent for jewelry.
