Large Sterling Buckle

I found this earlier this week (nickel for size ref). I believed it was a large sash buckle and it is made of quite thick Sterling silver. I was able to get help with an ID on another forum before I am posting it here, but I thought this group would be interested.

The site where this was found is a site where population would have frequented in the 1920-60's quite heavily. This was down about 11" and rang up a crazy high tone and was a solid 39-40 on the NOX. I almost did not dig it thinking it was a big/deep copper plate or pipe or something.

Nice! I only find cheap brass ones. Yeah some of those targets that sound too good to be true get passed on. Glad you dug it.

A full functioning sash buckle , i would heavily lean to around 1900 give or take a decade . beautiful find
