Monday I took the Garrett AT Pro out for its 5th hunt.

I got a wheat and a tiny key charm.

Yesterday I took it easy on digging deep coins--------- I took the Whites IDX out for cladding. I dug a plated ring from the woodchips along with the clad, a souvineer penny and charm.

Today it was the Garrett AT Pros 6th hunt. I got 5 wheats, 2 silver dimes, a button and a bullet.
The 1st silver dime was less than 3 inches away from the pulltab that was right on top of the ground. I got both the pulltab reading and the dime reading with no problem. Even with the large coil the AT Pro does very well in areas with loads of trash to separate coin targets from the junk items. The dime showed to be 6 inches deep.
The 2nd dime was along side a line of trees and was only 4 inches deep. I have been out a total of almost 19 hours using the AT Pro. It is different than the Whites I have used and from the old Master Hunter I had owned many years ago. Each time I use it I like it more and more.
The area I searched today I had searched before with both my Whites and at least 6 other detectorists have searched the same park area, with all types of different detectors.

No place is ever hunted out.

Nice double score on the silver dimes Dimeman
the more you use a detector the more you come to know and like it more
Great hunts!

Great couple of hunts. :clapping:

Glad to hear you are becoming more familiar with your new machine. Love that silver!

Congrats.

Nice going with your new AT Pro thumbsup01 thumbsup01 Is it hard to take off or put the coil wire to the control box it looks like it could a bit tight ? :thinkingabout:

Both the coil wire and headphones are screw on connections, and they are a bit tight to get to. Since it is a water proof detector ( up to 10 feet deep) the connections have o-rings. The standard headphones are not waterproof but the cable up to where it goes into the headphones is.
Guess they thought since it was an all in one detector most people wouldn't be swapping coils out as much as a regular unit.

well done Robbie, how do you like your Garrett for depth and discrimination compared to the Whites IDX.........
