Last Few Hunts, My Oldest Coin

Been busy with work lately, but Steve and I have been getting out every weekend for a team hunt. Nothing like hunting with buddy who you can share the joy of the hobby with! Got back to the the farm field that keeps on giving. Tons of old buttons and my third large cent from this site was my oldest. A 1747 King George copper. When I first dug it I thought it was toasted, but a splash of water back at the truck proved there was still a lot of detail. The Merc was from a local site that Steve and I will hit again. HH all :beerbuddy:

Love the dog tax tag. If I can find a few more I am going to do a displeay case with them. Great copper and merc!!!

Hey Mike , your copper is an interesting one . don't clean anymore of it , can you give me a brighter clear picture of the front and back (its a little dark to see some of the detail) . you may have a good one there , it might be like the one Drew found a few months back.

Dan

Congratulations Mike on some great keepers. The 1747 is jaw dropping for sure. Such an early coin. :smitten:
Nice merc too. Love the old dog tax tag.

Hey Dan, tried to get a better picture for you but all I have is my iPhone camera and I can't get a clean, clear pic, I need to get a good camera with a macro lens. Do you have a pic of the one Drew found?
