LC and two small silver coins??

The small silver coins are the size of a half dime but thinner one of them was bent and cracked and looks like it has a copper center :dontknow: I would say they are German on frount they say Ludwig Grosherzogv Baden on the back it says Drei Kreuzer 1829 and other is 1830 are they coins :dontknow: :dontknow: not sure but <: <: they are neat and have not seen one before tured out to be a nice 21/2 hr Wed. :happydance01: hunt and I did clean them :embarrassed: :blush: I had to see what they said :embarrassed:

Cool finds! I don't know much of anything about foreign coins, but I do know that Baden was a German State prior to German unification in 1871.

In early America, coinage was scarce, so people used other countries currency. Up until 1858 Spanish Reales were officially used by the US. Then the Civil War happened and again scarcity, thus you see the emergence of tokens.
