Little better Pequot hunt

Had a better Pequot hunt today, as we started to redo some areas near the village site that we did a couple of years ago. No bug bites today either :lol: Ended up with 10 small round ball and 2 identical small buttons and some other nice lead pieces, on that may be a form of decoration. Mike H did well with his PI unit too, getting a good amount of scrap brass (some holed) and a couple of small round ball. Long hunt but a gorgeous day.

That sounds like a lot of targets. Did you guys hammer this place in the past? I know you and Dan have picked up some new weapons (detectors) recently.
Just wondering if you think the new finds are attributed to the new machine? Or your just still cleaning up the site i.e; "no place is hunted out"?

We hit that fields hard a couple of years ago, when the brush was cleared for us . But no one was using any pulse machines back then. We all struggled finding the larger caliber round balls with our E Tracs and DFX's, some as shallow as 4". The small shot was out of the question for those machines under those conditions.

Information is scare from that time period and sayings like "a certain amount of large shot and small shot was given out" may be the only reference to what was being used. But there was no stopping each individual of bringing their own supply. If I were going away to battle a long way from home, I would bring it all :lol: We are going to start a new northern area next week, as landowner permissions were secured. This is where the trail may go cold until the next ambush. So we shall see if anything is dropped in-between battles. But I'm fairly confident the PI units will pull something out. Hopefully it won't just be shot gun shells and 22 slugs
