Matron Head

Went back to one of my favorite worn out cellar hole sites just to poke around with my big coil to see if I could find something deep. I brought home a pile of iron that even Heavy Metal Nut would have been proud of. But I did manage a deep 1834 Matron Head that still has some decent detail.

nice! so how deep was that or would your other coil have nailed it too?

It was about 7 to 8 inches down and on an angle. Not out of the range of the 10&quot:grin:cheesysmile: or 950 coils. I think the Super 12 made the position of the coil relative to the target a little less critical in this case. I much prefer the 10&quot:grin:cheesysmile: for general hunting at the cellar hole sites. I'll throw on the big coil after a site has quit producing and I have gotten a lot of the shallow iron out of the way.

Very nice, and deep! I've taken to using a 13 coil away from the hole and a 4.5 around the hole. Only use the stock 11 once in a while.
