What this copper is. I went out for 3 cold hours this morning. The copper was a solid 74 VDI at 8 with the M6 and 12 coil. Got some clad and the standard colour button too. I was at my favorite park that Ive been to about 1000 times so far
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Congrats on the copper Steve! :clapping:
Boy that must have been cold this morning. I going to let it warm up a bit and try to get some late day hunting in.
I think winter is just holding on tight to it's last week. By the end of this coming week... no more cold! <:

Nice old copper Steve. thumbsup01 I think I can make out some lettering on the edge? It may just be my eyes playing tricks on me though. lol

From the land of the Bluenose.....wow you do get to hunt a lot. Feel lucky just getting out 115 days last year. Darn work, ball and honey do lists get in the way. Nice scoff on the old coin! <;)

Once you clean it you may get a bit more detail out, it only takes a little bit to be able to ID. Nice find

Way to go on the coppers Steve! Will you be able to ID them? I'm lacking in the how far do you go dept for cleaning coins. I want to see everything I can and have ruined a few just to find out I couldn't see anymore than when I started. Happy hunting, Jeff

that place never dies out huh Steve , when coppers are that far gone you really can't do anything that will make them worse . i've had a few that were virtually smooth on both sides and i gave them a hot peroxide bath and the used a scotchbrite pad on them and i couldn't believe how much datail was still there . i manage to identify one as a King William half penny (1696 -1700) . so theres always hope to identify them .

My very first old copper was an 1802 LC. I was new to the hobby and asked around on Tnet how to clean it. I was told of the hot peroxide bath. I cooked it! I swore I would never do it again. Im tempted to take the brass brush to this one.
And yes Dan, This place just keeps on giving. I'd love to see what an Etrac could get out of it.
