Metal Detectors Winter Lament

Floating and falling
Through winter air
Snowflakes gathering
Together in pairs
The ground once green
Is now pearly white
Undeniably beautiful
Undeniably bright
In the face of such beauty
Why do spirits fade
We sigh and gaze
As winter invades
Oh for the grass
To grow in a spurt
Oh snow, don’t you know
I long to dig in the dirt

I think you summed it up nicely.
I think im going to give winter detecting a go at least once.
BTW will the signals be different than in the summer. I bet they will be but is it a drastic change?

Nice poem! We have evaded the white stuff so far, but the bitter cold has a big hold on us here.

Nice piece of writing. I can sympathize, as I too am in the midst of the winter doldrums. Hopefully I can make a trip or two to lower elevations this winter, and find some dirt to dig in.
