Mule coin

I think Del is right on the CT and Vermont. I've scanned in my own 33.37-Z.9 for you to take a look. I could scan in my Ryder 2 also, but it's not as balanced as it appears to suffer from a strike through error. As for the mule, 99% of George III and a lot of the George II pieces you find are counterfeit. More likely than to find a genuine piece. They did all sorts of stuff back than and even though finding a Geo II obverse with a 1775 reverse is unusual, it doesn't completely surprise me. BTW, the 33.39-Z.7 is quiet rare and I think it still holds an R-6 rating (less than 30 know) I believe the one I have is third finest. I should add mine came from the Dr Thomas Hall collection. He wrote the original reference on CT's in 1892 that was revised by Miller in 1920. Don ct 33.37-Z.9 obv.jpgct 33.37-Z.9 rev.jpg

Wow that's a beautiful copper!!!!! Im aware most KG ll & lll coppers are counterfeit. Mine is called a mule coin and is quite rare here in the states. The mules were broken down into families and mine is from an unknown family. Coin facts has the 33.39-Z.7 listed as an R4 rarity I think. Thanks for the info. HH

Wow, very cool finds.
We don't find those in Illinois
Well, at least I don't

Hey look- you were making Haikus before the contest ever began!

Very interesting thread- great finds!!! I'm jealous because I don't find coins this old here in Kentucky... :(

Love your posts, I can live through you until I retire & move out East :)
