Hey,I found this 1863 Civil War token at a modern elementary school totlot last Thursday. I walked over bare ground and made a sweep on the target after it beeped. I promptly dug out a hole and pulled this green penny size coin out of its hole( in less than two inches down). I was stunned to see the Indian Head on it and quickly examined this token very closely. It turned to be a 1863 Civil War token with a advertisement for a Detroit butcher shop. The Indian Head obseve was obscured by green coating known as vertidigse but its reverse was very clear to show the butcher shop and its address. Yes,This token was made from bronze. This was my best find of this year!!! I like it much!!!

I haven't found a token that was penny size. So they make it out of an Indian head? That is a really interesting find, nice job.
