My Painting of a Mercury Dime

It's been a few years since I've painted and the urge struck me to do a coin painting. It's acrylic on 11 X 14 canvas and the coin measures about 8 in diameter. I'll continue with updates as I get more completed...

Night #1 Tonight I started with a crude outline in pencil and put on the black areas. It looks rough, but it is intended to be at first until I can begin adding in the colors and shading as I go. Time about 1 hour.

WOW Beefcake. Thats pretty cool. Can't wait to see the finished product. Ever tried a Morgan Dollar?

Day 2 - Time: 1 hr. Added some shading and color to the face. The lines will be more crisp once the final highlights and colors surrounding are added...

Great looking start so far. I have absolutley no artist value to add to this world so when I see something like this I have to applaud.

Great job Brian! :clapping: I remember a smaller one you did about a year ago w/charcoal or pencil

LOL... I still need to finish the final details on the pencil drawing too... Just get busy I guess. Here's the pic of that one if anyone missed it.
