Need help May be junk of a nice relic

Not sure if this is anything of interest but it is brass or some metal like that about the size of a nickel. It has no threads but looks like some sort of cover as the bottom sides are chamfered. Hope the pictures help someone identify it. Thx Wisconsin Digger

Is there a hole in the center?

It looks like there is one but it's still filled with dirt. I wonder if there is something specific about the fact the outter edge has a divit.

There is no hole in the center just a slight depression. WD
