Hit a site yesterday, man was it wet! Nearby stream had overflowed and soaked the site. This site was already tough to hunt because it is so choked. But the wet soil helped me find a few goodies.
Found a toasted New Jersey copper under a big root . My first NJ copper, so I'll happily take it as is.
You can just make out the shield on the reverse and the horse head and plow on the obverse.
Also found a chape, button and musket ball (not shown). I take credit for the musket ball because it was in my pouch. It's like fishing, as long as you get the fish on the boat, it counts. :grin: My pouch tipped over when I was packing my gear to leave the site. I know exactly where to find that ball next time I am there.
Don't know what that brass band is with the ornate hook. There are two more holes that likely had the same hooks. Found another scythe handle thingy. I had also found one last week. It's the round thing with the slot. Found some modern stuff too. This site goes back to the 1700's, but as often the case, someone dumped a load of early 1900's trash into the cellar hole.
New tick suit did its job. Didn't notice I was wearing it after a while. But the temps were only in the 50's.
