Hello all. I've had a detector since 1988 but just recently got interested again and having a lot of fun. I'll be getting a new detector soon and looking forward to spring weather!

Welcome from western MA. Glad to hear that you are once again getting excited about metal detecting. Looking forward to your posts.

Hey Skamaniac :groovy:
Welcome to the forum from the cornfields of Illinois! :waving:
Looking forward to some of your finds.... past or present :->

Welcome Skamaniac! We're looking forward to spring here in Illinois too! Best of luck with your detecting! Keep us posted on your finds!

Del, my oldest detector from the 80's is a White's 5900. Great detector in its day but kind of cumbersome and heavy, what with 6 C-cell batteries. And it's analog instead of digital. Then last summer I bought a Bounty Hunter for $24 at a yard sale, and that has me hooked all over again. Now I've been reading and looking around and think I've decided on a Garret AT Pro. It looks like it's got everything I'd use at a reasonable price.

i'm very familiar with the 5900 and the 6000 di pro , they are good machines but very cumbersome and heavy . i keep hearing very good comments and reviews about the AT Pro , a good choice and i wish you the best with it .
