Hi everyone,
I joined this forum to learn more about metal detector hunting. I've had a Tesoro Vaquero for 7 yrs now and its a very good machine. I love relic hunting, but I have done less of it that last few years. I retired from Law Enforcement and moved to Tennessee.... Now I got the BUG again. There are so many place's here to hunt. I plan on getting another detector that has multi-tone and a ID screen. I'll be reading here as much as possible and hope to get some good info on which detector is right for me. Leaning toward the Garrett AT Pro or the Fisher F75 SE.
Thank you very much for letting me join in.
David

Welcome from Illinois! :waving: Glad to have you here, David!

Where did you live before you moved to Tennessee? I have never used a Garrett AT Pro or a Fisher F75 SE but I'm sure they're both great machines. The AT Pro seems to be very popular.

Best of luck and we are looking forward to your participation on the forum! |:cheering:

Hi David! :waving:

You will find this site to be full of great information :interesting: awesome finds :shocked04: and more than one or two characters! :pirate:

As a new detectorist myself, I'm glad this was my first stop. Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the forum David :waving: , Tennessee is a very historic area of the country . I've heard the Vaquero is a very capable relic machine , what has been the best item you found with it ?? both those detectors you mentioned are very good machines and no doubt you will do well with either once you've learned it features. glad you found us here David .

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Tony Two-Cent, I'm from S. Florida; Moved to TN 5 yrs ago and its a great place to live here.
Thanks again everybody, David

Welcome aboard from western MA. Tesoros can be very capable machines in the right hands. As for a good ID machine for you, I would consider strongly testing some models out before buying one. What works here in MA, may not even touch that Tennessee soil. So brand name is not as critical as soil handling capability. Just some thoughts on it.

Hi David,
Welcome to the site. I'm retired LE also (29 years), now working in 9-1-1. I'm using an AT Pro and like it well enough. It tends to rain here a lot and the Pro is waterproof so I went with it.
This is a great site, I think you'll like it here.

Hello David and welcome to the rout from SE Wisconsin. Thank you for your years of service, now it's time to enjoy yourself. Good luck and happy hunting.

Welcome....I have seen some great finds posted with both of the machines you mentioned. Looking forward to your future finds.

Welcome to the forum David. All the best in your retierement. I am in my 14th year of law enforcement........after spending 20 years in the fire service. I use a Fisher F75 amd love it. Its a little noisy sometimes. Am still leaning toward an AT Pro because of it being water proof. If I were going to be hunting near or in creeks and rivers, I would go with the AT. IMHO. Again welcome.
