|:cheering: Great write-up Dan ! Nice Pics and some nice finds Guys . It's always nice to learn about the area they your about to hunt . A lot of people that don't live here don't realize how much history CT. has. It's incredible. Thanks for the history lesson and as always it's great seeing the items you guys continue to find .

It's period, but which one is the question lol Found in the lot adjacent to the Jesuit ring. It was already detected before, but they missed ....umm everything rofl Tons of nails It's the third lot of four on that block. There was only one half of the dynamic duo present so I evaded the hug :smitten: lol

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

did he (half of the &quot:grin:uo ) give it a size ?? 8 pound ,12 pound ect. and how deep was it George ??

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

Probably a 6 or 8 pounder. About 8 deep and it screemed :girlcry: Gave a nice high tone like all big iron does.

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

the July 12th update was a great one George , the weather was perfect cool 70's temps with a beautiful coastal breeze |:cheering: |:cheering: you did very well and i couldn't believe the size of that musket ball an i also thought the buckle half looked period (1600's) :perfect10: all i recovered was some very suspicious looking lead maybe from a bar or ingot and some non-ferrous scraps

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

Hey, the musket ball turns out to be a 77 caliber ball. Imagine the gun that would come out of :shocked04:

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

Friday's hunt was hot :shocked01: Felt like 100 degrees. That is the first hunt at Saybrook, where no one found anything good :shocked04: I'm hoping Wednesday's hunt is better (and cooler too.) We are going to find a point if we have to dig every piece of can slaw there lol

Re: Old Fort Saybrook (finding History)

Things have been slowing down her lately. Still finding some lead, but we need a Pequot point bad lol Updated a couple of things for those interested in following this project. So far we are slowly finding our way back to the fort
