Old Nickel And Vintage Toy Soldier

Today I was able to detect for a few hours late in the day at another local site. There weren't many good targets, but the few that I managed made for a fun hunt.

This 1868 shield nickel is one of the better ones I have found in several years. I do have to work on the obverse though.

The 1907 Barber dime too has very nice details, with full liberty on the band.

I also picked up two Indian Head cents dated in the 1800's, two wheat cents, a crucifix, and part of a cufflink. The mercury dime is from a few days ago.

This appears to be the back of a large pocket watch. It is sterling silver.

I like how well preserved this vintage toy soldier is. It still has the original paint.

Did you say, weren't many good targets. I would be satisfied to have your poor days. lol
I would love to see your entire collection, it must be AWESOME. |)

That shield nickel looks terrific! Great detail on the reverse. I am curious to see how the obverse looks after you have cleaned it up. The Barber Dime looks great too.

That toy soldier did come out of the ground in remarkable condition! How wonderful that it still has the original paint. It appears to be a WWI doughboy.

As always, your finds are very cool and interesting, Angel! thumbsup01

I'll take quality over quantity anytime! ;)
Looks like fun couple of days of huntin' thumbsup01
Sweet finds as usual Angel  |)
Congrats

Nice mix of old stuff Angel. You are right, the reverse of the Nickel is in very nice shape. Too bad about the front. Hopefully
you will be able to clean some of that off to reveal its beauty. The Barber is in fantastic condition. I'll bet it looks incredible after
a quick rinse in water. :smitten:
My favorite of this group is definitely the sterling pocket watch back. Love the hallmarks on it.
Congrats on a nice hunt.

Me too  Did the reverse look that bad before cleaning? :omg:

I wouldn't doubt it, from what I've seen in past you are good at cleaning |)
