Old swimming holes and all I got was this stupid....

I located a couple old swimming holes, one from the 1880s and another from from the 1920s to the late 40s or so. The older one has changed a lot since the dam below it was removed a few years ago, but I had hoped that something might be in the remaining river channel. No such luck unfortunately.
Then I moved up river a few miles to the later hole. Very difficult area because the muck was about a foot or more deep and loaded with weeds. But i did find one area near a bend that did have gravel and worked that hard. A few pull tabs and trash as expected. But the only good solid signal turned out to be a spoon. Go figure. Well, I'll try again later, and have 2 more old swimming holes to try yet!

Don't give up on those swimming holes. I have wanted to do the river that runs thru my town but not until I get a water proof ATPro.

Update:
Guess that spoon wasn't such a bad find after all. I was able to get the name of the manufacturer off the back (Fairfield) and traced the pattern (Alpha), which I found was a plated set that dates to 1915!
Guess I'll have to get back to that site in lower water conditions sometime to see what else is hiding there. :)

Most plated stuff comes from 1860s-1920s, altho electroplating started 1840s. And I think The majority of silversmiths went away in the 20's after the international silver group. Just some info. However, If you can find items dating to the early teens, there might be a chance of silver. The saying about wheats... might be applicable to this. I have yet to find where the swimming hole is for a private prop I have permission for. I only went once and tried the yard with no old finds for some reason.

That's what I'm hoping for, that being a sign that there may be more out there. Unfortunately my timing stinks. Very dry summer until a couple days ago. Now we have flooding and the river is probably 6 to 8 feet or more higher now than normal levels.
